The Secret History by Donna Tartt
The Secret History is a haunting, dark book that pulls you in and keeps you riveted. Tartt’s writing weaves a spell with this tale. It is the type of writing that is easily understood while being elegant, intelligent, and beautiful without appearing to make any effort to do so. I found the characters fascinating even when they were not necessarily likable and wished I could be a part of their tight-knit friendship.
